Organization
French contribution
Led by a range of organizations such as the French environment and energy agency ADEME, the national scientific research centre CNRS, the IRD development research institute and IFREMER, the French institute of marine research and exploration, 15 projects were selected by SCO France in April 2020. These projects will serve as pilots for implementing international objectives. The other SCO partners are pursuing the same process in their own country. The French projects will be funded by French agencies, research centres and big international organizations like UNDP, UNEP and the World Bank.
Most of the projects are seeking to extract new information from existing data. Such information must be sufficiently operational to enable immediate decisions for adapting to the impacts of climate change.
